Szekelygulyas

Szekelygulyas is a Hungarian goulash recipe.
Ingredients
  • 4½ cups pork, cut into cubes
  • 3 tbsp lard
  • 2 cups onion, sliced
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp caraway seeds
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 3½ cups sauerkraut
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1 tbsp flour
Instructions
  1. Saute the onion until soft and remove from heat. Stir in paprika, add water and put back onto heat.
  2. Add meat, salt, caraway seeds and garlic and cook gently for approximately 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Add the sauerkraut and cook until well done.
  4. Stir the flour into the sour cream, add to pan and let simmer on very low heat for about 10 minutes.
  5. Serve with potatoes.
