Ardei Copti Romanesti | Baked Peppers
Recipe type: Entree
Ardei Copti Romanesti | Baked Peppers is a Romanian food recipe baked with veal.
  • 1 lb. veal, cubed
  • ½ lb. pork, cubed
  • bacon drippings
  • 4 large onions, chopped
  • parsley, thyme, fennel, chopped
  • 12 green peppers, shredded
  • 4 large tomatoes
  • salt and pepper
  • chives
  • garlic
  • cream
  • shredded cheese
  1. Sear veal and pork quickly (2 minutes) in 2 tablespoons of bacon drippings.
  2. Add onions and parsley and cook until tender. Add peppers.
  3. Peel tomatoes, slice thinly and cover the shredded peppers.
  4. Add salt and pepper, a little thyme, parsley, chives, fennel and a little garlic.
  5. Cover dish and bake in a moderate oven.
  6. When meat is tender, spread cream and cheese on top and keep under the fire until you get a nice color.
