Popovers are an Israeli food recipe of bread rolls.

  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup matzo meal
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 jar fruit preserves, or 1 pint whipped cream
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 450F.
  2. In medium saucepan, bring water and peanut oil to a boil. Add the salt and matzo meal and continue cooking and stirring until the dough no longer sticks to sides of pan. Remove from heat and add unbeaten eggs one at a time, beating thoroughly after each.
  3. Drop dough by the tablespoonful on lightly greased baking sheet and bake for 25 minutes.
  4. Reduce heat to 325F and bake 30 to 40 minutes or until browned.
  5. When cool, carefully slit along one side and fill with fruit preserves or sweetened whipped cream.
