Kashata
Recipe type: Dessert
 
Kashata are an Ethiopian food recipe of coconut balls.
Ingredients
  • ⅔ cup sugar
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • 2 cup coconut, grated
  • ½ cup peanuts
Instructions
  1. Heat the sugar in a pan until it melts while stirring constantly. It will be dark brown and thick.
  2. Add the cinnamon, coconut and peanuts.
  3. Cook for about 2 minutes, or until the sugar turns light brown.
  4. Remove from heat and let cool.
  5. When cool enough to handle, form small balls and place on wax paper until set.
