Kalajosh
Recipe type: Entree
 
Kalajosh is an Armenian food recipe of sautéed lamb served over rice.
Ingredients
  • 1⁄2 cup olive oil
  • 1 lb boneless lamb, cubed
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, mashed
  • salt, pepper to taste
  • 7 slices bread, cubed
  • rice, cooked
  • 1⁄2 cup yogurt
Instructions
  1. Heat oil over medium heat and saute meat until lightly browned. Stir in onion, garlic, salt, and pepper.
  2. Reduce heat to a minimum, and cook, covered, until tender, for about 40-50 minutes.
  3. Add bread cubes, stirring until browned.
  4. Serve warm over rice and spoon yogurt over meat.
