Fraughan Pie
Recipe type: Dessert
Fraughan Pie is a British food recipe originally from Ireland with berries.
  • 1⁄2 cup butter
  • 1⁄2 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 cups self-rising flour
  • 1⁄2 tsp baking soda
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup blueberries
  • 1 cup whipping cream
  • 1 cup blueberries, lightly crushed
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  1. Butter and flour a 9 inch round cake pan.
  2. Mix flour, baking soda and salt
  3. Cream butter and sugar until light. Stir in vanilla and eggs. Mix in flour mixture, alternating with milk.
  4. Stir in blueberries, mixing well.
  5. Pour into prepared pan.
  6. Bake in preheated 350F oven for 40 minutes, or until cake is done.
  7. For Fraughan Cream, whip cream to form soft peaks. Fold in berries and sugar. Serve over cake.
