Pui cu Smantana | Chicken with Cream
Recipe type: Entree
Pui cu Smantana | Chicken with Cream is a Romanian food recipe with mushrooms.
  • 1 large chicken
  • ¼ lb. butter
  • 2 tbs. flour
  • 1 pt. sour cream
  • ¼ lb. mushrooms, sliced
  • salt and pepper
  • parsley, fennel, chives
  1. Clean the chicken and cut into pieces. Brown in butter in a frying pan and then remove to a casserole.
  2. Reheat the butter in the pan and add to it flour. Heat while stirring until light brown.
  3. Add sour cream slowly, mix well and simmer for a few minutes. Pour this over the chicken in the casserole
  4. Add mushrooms, salt and pepper, finely chopped parsley, fennel and chives and a little water.
  5. Cover the casserole tightly and cook slowly until tender.
