Boiled Plantains

Plantains
Recipe type: Side
 
Plantains are boiled and served with butter as an Ethiopian food recipe.
Ingredients
  • 2 green plantains, large and firm
  • dash salt
  • butter, to taste
Instructions
  1. Wash and peel the plantains. Cut into 1 inch pieces and place in a large pot. Cover with water and add salt. Bring to a boil over high heat.
  2. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer for 10 minutes or until plantains can be easily pierced with a fork.
  3. Serve hot with butter.
