Beef in Red Wine Gravy
Recipe type: Entree
Beef in Red Wine Gravy is a slow cooker recipe with mushrooms and onions.
  • 1½ lbs well-trimmed beef stew meat, cut into one inch pieces
  • 2 medium onions cut into half inch wedges
  • 1 pkg sliced fresh mushrooms (8oz)
  • 1 envelope beefy onion soup mix
  • 3 tbs cornstarch
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1½ cups dry red wine
  1. Place beef, onions and mushrooms in a 4qt or larger crock pot.
  2. Add dry soup mix.
  3. Sprinkle with cornstarch and salt and pepper.
  4. Pour wine over all.
  5. Cover and cook on low 10-12 hours or high 5-6 hours. Stir well before serving.
